My name is Dennis Saller. I have been a school psychologist and tutor for over ten years. I provide private assessments for private and public school clients. I believe a good assessment should clearly describe and pinpoint the reasons WHY a student is struggling.

My assessments and lessons are highly research based, which means they are proven to be effective. I use, I believe, the best handwriting lessons there are available and have used them in large scale summer school projects and in small private home tutorials.

I am dedicated to helping students improve their academic performance in the following areas:

Spelling Handwriting legibility and fluency Writing Phonics (quickly and fluently figuring out new words) Reading Fluency Comprehension

Language Math Executive Functions Attention, Focus, Inhibition, Organization Monitoring behavior English learners (spelling, grammer, reading, math, composition, etc.)

Though I was originally trained and worked at Lindamood-Bell, and many other programs, the core of my materials are based on Ginger Berninger's work from the University of Washington called the Process Assessment of the Learner - II (PAL-II) based on brain imaging and neuropsychology. I find these materials to be more efficient and cost effective for the client than any other program out there, especially in, what I believe is the most important skill in education: Writing.

I have conducted workshops at the statewide CASP conference, and at several school district, including Oakland Unified, on the PAL-II.
