Meadowood Springs Speech Camp , located in the Blue Mountains of Eastern Oregon, near the recreational area of Umatilla National Forest, is a summer residential camp/clinic for children with speech and hearing challenges, including children with autism and other ASDs. The Meadowood program offers intensive 24-hour speech therapy to boys and girls referred to the program from Oregon and the Pacific Northwest.

A two week session at Meadowood is equivalent to about a year's speech therapy in the schools. Based on needs assessment, a program specifically designed for each camper is developed and implemented with support from the entire staff.

Individual therapy is conducted in two sessions daily and group therapy twice daily. The camper is encouraged to use and carry over these newly acquired skills 24 hours a day, 7 days a week through a full range of camp activities, including:

  • swimming
  • canoeing
  • campfires
  • sports program
  • songfests
  • nature hikes
  • arts and crafts
  •
