Preparing for Life...Beyond the Classroom

Pine Ridge School empowers students with dyslexia, language-based, or non-verbal learning disabilities to define and achieve success throughout their lives. Self-esteem and self-advocacy are developed through a comprehensive academic and residential remedial program. By living together, working together, learning together, and most importantly, growing together—students build foundations that will last a lifetime.

Summer Program: Pine Ridge School offers a residential program in the summer for learning disabled students ages nine to eighteen. The students spend six weeks improving language processing skills by attending two one-to-one Orton-Gillingham tutorials per day. In addition, they enjoy a full range of outdoor sports and regular camp activities.

Orton Gillingham Training at PRS: Pine Ridge School is accredited by the Academy of Orton-Gillingham Practitioners and Educators (AOGPE) as a school, and training program. Both the winter and summer schools share this distinction.

Post-Graduate Program: Pine Ridge School has developed a unique transitional program for recent high school graduates. Building on the students' own self-directed plans for their futures—whether those are career objectives or further education—the program provides support networks enabling them to continue strengthening learning skills while developing skills in areas linked with long-term goals. An Individual Action Plan (IAP) and a menu of service options offer students a personalized, flexible program for growth in key areas.
