Post-secondary School for Young Adults with Intellectual/Developmental Disabilities
Shepherds College is a three-year, post-secondary school
designed specifically for young adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities.
As the first school of its kind to be accredited in the country,
Shepherds College is nationally known for its exceptional program that
includes classes in daily living skills, functional academics,
spiritual life, social skills, and professional training in either
Horticulture or Culinary Arts.
Our entire program is based on the
philosophy of Appropriate Independence - supported self-sufficiency
aligned with the student's strengths and supported by Christian values.
Shepherds College also offers Ai Academy for students functioning at a
more remedial level. Ai Academy is a two year, non-academic program
geared primarily towards daily living, social, and money skills.
Students in Ai Academy participate in residential life with the college
students and have classes throughout the week geared towards preparing
them for a more independent lifestyle in these skill areas.
