Struggling with Reading?

At Pride Learning Center we work one-to-one with students in a positive, patient and caring environment. Our reading program is based on a structured, systematic, and cumulative approach that creates independent and confident readers. We tap into each child’s individual learning style by incorporating touch, vision and auditory elements. The reading program used at Pride Learning Center is an Orton-Gillingham based multi-sensory program that focuses on developing:
  • Phonemic Awareness
  • Fluency
  • Comprehension
  • Spelling
  • Vocabulary
  • Written Expression

Pride Learning Center runs programs for:

  • Pre-K through High School Reading Programs
  • Reading and Spelling skills
  • Math skills
  • Typing skills

Research has shown that individuals with dyslexia improve their ability to store and retrieve phonemic information when they use all their senses while learning. This is why the Pride reading program combines elements of listening, seeing, touching, and movement (auditory, visual, tactile, kinesthetic). For example, prompted by the letter A on a flashcard, a student might say its name and sound, and write it in the air—all at the same time.

Pride ensures that every student has the skills and the confidence to succeed in and out of the classroom.

  • Improves Grades
  • Builds Self-Esteem
  • Develops Confidence
  • Increases Motivation
At Pride, we believe that Dyslexia is a gift worthy of pride. With the proper approach to learning, every dyslexic can achieve his or her goals and dreams.
