The Center for Learning Disabilities is part of the Menninger Clinic, an international center for psychiatric treatment, professional education, research, and the prevention of mental illness. For more than 20 years, the Center has been providing educational diagnostic and consultative services at the local and national levels for persons of all ages with a broad range of learning problems, including dyslexia and nonverbal learning disorders.

The Center helps individuals who:

  • do not do as well as expected in school
  • do well only in certain subjects
  • have trouble organizing their belongings or school materials
  • are slow readers or struggle with spelling
  • are not developing preschool readiness skills
  • are gifted academically

The Center offers individual tutoring for children and adults, IEP consultation, and educational evaluation and diagnosis at all levels.

The Center is staffed by a team of educational psychologist and learning disabilities specialists, and staff members have access to pediatric neurologists, clinical psychologists, neuropsychologists, and psychiatrists.
