The Hanen Centre The Hanen Centre is an international charitable organization dedicated to helping young children with language delays – and those at risk of developing language delays – to communicate to the best of their abilities, by developing practical, user-friendly programs and resources for parents, educators and other important people in children’s lives.

Hanen Programs

It Takes Two to Talk The Hanen Program® For Parents
In this family-focused program, parents of children with language delays participate in activities and group discussions, learning to create and take advantage of everyday opportunities to help their children communicate and learn language.

More Than Words – The Hanen Program® for Parents of Children with Autism Spectrum Disorder
More Than Words teaches parents of children with ASD and related social communication difficulties how to foster their children’s interaction and communication skills. The program encompasses current research and best practice guidelines for enhancing learning in children with ASD.

Target Word – The Hanen Program® for Parents of Children who are Late Talkers
Target Word teaches parents of children who are identified as late talkers to facilitate their children’s expressive vocabulary during everyday activities, incorporating selected “target words” within these interactions.

Learning Language and Loving It – The Hanen Program® for Early Childhood Educators/Teachers
Preschool teachers play a vital role in facilitating children’s social, language and literacy development. This program shows teachers how to use play and daily activities to create enriched language-learning environments that include all children.

You Make the Difference™ Parent Child Interaction Program
Sometimes parents need guidance to interact with their children in ways that promote language and literacy development. This prevention program gives parents the skills they need to play a major role in their children’s development, laying the foundation for future academic and social success.
