One-to-one, Individualized Instruction for Students of All Ages
Educational, Psychological, and Speech and Language Evaluations

The Commonwealth Learning Center (CLC) is a non-profit organization which has been dedicated to improving student performance through research-based, multisensory teaching methods and one-to-one, individualized instruction since 1986. CLC provides tutoring in reading, writing, math, test preparation, study skills, and academic support. CLC also offers a variety of comprehensive educational, psychological, and speech and language evaluations. CLC's teachers have special expertise in assisting students with learning challenges and learning style differences.

Specialized multisensory programs for students with learning disabilities:

  • Nancibell® Visualizing and Verbalizing® *
  • Project Read

Commonwealth offers teacher training in multisensory methodologies through its local Professional Training Institute (PTI) and national Commonwealth Learning Online Institute (CommLearn Online). PTI provides a variety of on-site courses for education professionals including Orton-Gillingham, LiPS®, Visualizing and Verbalizing®, Reading Games, Math Games, and Educational Evaluations. CommLearn Online delivers job-embedded, online professional development on the different components of reading. In the next few months, they will also offer an online learning library that will help educators build instructional skills to improve student performance by supplying in-depth study, focused training sessions, and classroom resources. PDPs and graduate credit are available.
