CIP Long Beach provides young adults with Asperger's Syndrome, High-Functioning Autism, ADHD, Nonverbal Learning Disabilities and other Learning Differences with the individualized social, academic, career and life skills necessary for success at college, careers and independent living. Our mission is to inspire independence and expand the foundation on which young adults can build happy and productive lives.

Program Overview
Students attend college or take part in career development classes along with comprehensive social, academic, career and life skills curriculum.

Year-round programs located in Massachusetts, Florida, Indiana, and California.

Two-week teen summer programs on college and university campuses in the US.

CIP curriculum is based on our Professional Advisory Board Members work and focuses on developing real life skills in areas of social thinking, executive functioning, sensory processing and wellness.

Actively involved in the direction of their lives, students create Person-Centered Plans focusing on short and long-term goal setting, developing self-advocacy skills and outlining the steps necessary for success.

Residential apartment living support includes organization, recreation, planning and time management, food shopping, menu planning, cooking and cleaning instruction.

Advisors work individually with students on banking and budgeting, weekly goal setting, self-assessments, personal advising and communication with parents.

On-call night and 24/7 emergency assistance from live-in night staff

Who We Serve

  • Documented diagnosis of Asperger's syndrome, high-functioning autism, nonverbal learning disability, PDDNOS,
  • ADHD, dyslexia or other learning differences
  • Full scale IQ from 75 and up
  • Emotional, behavioral, and psychological stability
  • High level of motivation to meet program goals
  • Potential to live and attend college or career program independently
  • Ages 18 to 26 years old

About CIP LOng Beach
The moderate climate, superb park system, availability of sporting and recreation activities, and access to the ocean make Long Beach a great place to live. There are an abundance of neighborhood amenities that include: grocery stores, pharmacies, banks, retail stores, and restaurants that are located only a short walking distance away. CIP Long Beach is less than two miles south of the Long Beach airport and only 30 miles south of the Los Angeles International Airport. Long Beach City College and California State University Long Beach are also just a short commute by car or public transportation.
